Aims
At the end of the course the student can:
• Arrange (pop) songs for beginner bands/ensembles
• Simplify music for teaching purposes
• Summarize the basic rules of arranging
• Explain the difficulties on different instruments for beginners.

The contents of this module follow where Education left off, and is related to the elective Arranging J&P.
Content
These are extremely practical group classes where all the teaching materials (writing techniques, instrument principles and creating a score) are incorporated into three arrangements for beginners (children and/or amateurs).

Examination and assessment

Mode(s) of assessment
Three Assignments: three different arrangments. The performance by beginners of one of the arrangment has to be recorded.
Criteria
Students should have mastered the elements described under Contents.
Pass requirements
The student has successfully completed the module with a minimum attendance of 80% and a minimum grade of 5.5 for each assignment.
Examination procedure
Assignments are graded by the teacher. A weighted average of the assignment grades is used as the final grade.
