Content
In this module, students will work in a small group on backing vocals in pop or soul music - sometimes gospel, pop rock or indie. The lessons are modeled after the professional practice of singing backing vocals in a band or in a larger production, where triads and pentatonics are sung with conviction and a ‘street’ attitude. Points of attention include sound, feel, presentation and ad libs. Both the teacher and the students can make suggestions for song material. There is a short presentation at the Black Hole but the class can also contribute to other bands, auditions or final exams.
