Relation to other modules
Related to the main subject module, all theory modules, and Musiconomics.
Students may come back on various collaborations with film institutes all over Europe or bring their own film or theatre projects with external directors.
Students prepare their showreels to pitch in front of film students or online on composer-showreel.info
. During their collaboration work students are coached by internal or external coaches. Proposals for projects are discussed and approved by their main subject teachers.
Students further develop their production skills, their compositional and stylistic skills, their abilities to produce products that are well fitting into given circumstances of film or theater productions. Beside these, networking is defined into two directions: towards directors in collaboration with films and theater, and towards musicians in producing their compositions.
Within that process CFT students handle stylistic questions concerning their compositional and productional work. What kind of compositional work is needed in my collaboration project? How can I expand my stylistic skills in composition and production? How do I communicate and establish my network relations?
Alternatively students may reach the desired networking and production skills by non integrated projects.
Student makes profound research to discover various working possibilities: online platforms, own website with effective online distribution a.o.
Specific research on technical developments of parts of the production process i.e. software development, alternative workflow development a.o.
Writing for specific ensembles like string quartet or woodwinds a.o.
Recording a band or ensemble under responsibility of the entire production process unlike being only sound operator.
Mode(s) of instruction
Virtual classroom video conference with audio where max four students in four different locations and one instructor in another location, communicate by seeing each other, talking and listening to each other equally. The Instructor has access to a whiteboard, application sharing, desktop sharing and document sharing and may hand this privileges to any participants of the conference.

Examination and assessment
Mode(s) of assessment
Assessment by the coaches at the end of each semester. Active participation in and output of the coaching sessions play an important role in both assessments.
Students should have mastered all elements described under Content and completed all (three) assignments with a satisfactory grade. There are no three assignments.
The student has completed this module if he is awarded a minimum grade of 5.5 at the end of the second semester.
Assessment by the coaches at the end of both semesters.
The assessment at the end of the autumn semester is formative and expressed in terms of satisfactory/unsatisfactory. It indicates a student's progress in this module. No ECs are awarded and there is no resit. Modules can only be absolved, and ECs awarded, after the end of the spring semester.
This module gives the composer the opportunity to develop stable network relations and production skills for better post study job opportunities.
Both of them are ideally realized in integrated learning situations like project works in film projects or theater projects.
