Prerequisites
Everyone who has ever plugged in an instrument or microphone and absolutely wants to know the whys and wherefores. This subject can only be followed on-campus.

Content
This selective module consists of eight theory classes and two practical blocks where all the basic skills needed for amplifying your instrument or voice are dealt with. The typical characteristics of other instruments are also discussed.
Subjects comprise: Using a mixing table, signal routing, microphones, monitors, cable wiring and effects. Live Sound 1 focuses on being able to operate a simple PA system so that you can adjust everything correctly yourself at auditions and performances or can indicate how you want to sound as a soloist/band.
During the practical sessions, you will make the auditorium mix of a Jazz & Pop band at a Black Hole concert. This will be under supervision.
