Admitted to year 4 of the Bachelor's course.
Learning how to work in a band, and produce material for it.
Relation to other modules
Over the course of the study year, several projects are organized. These projects focus on a wide range of subjects, including (but not limited to):
Creating, writing, rehearsing and performing original compositions.
Specific themes such as: blues, film scores, Cole Porter, The Pointer Sisters, Miles Davis, world music, specific instrumentations e.g., by the Metropole Orchestra’.
Swap Days are also part of Jazz & Pop’s projects.
ONE OF THE PROJECTS ALWAYS INCLUDES COMPOSITION/ARRANGING.
One of these projects will be presenting a Band In Residence. Bands who have been visiting us the last couple of years for such a week were Snarky Puppy, Now vs. Now, Simin Tander Quartet, Banda Magda, Marc O’Reilly and ICP Orchestra. November 2019 the new York based band Lohai will be our next Band In Residence.

Varies for the different projects, depending on their subject and mode of instruction. Students may be assessed by the relevant teachers and/or guest teachers through keeping a logbook, meetings, and/or a performance assessment.
Students are required to make an active contribution to the project’s process and to deliver a performance that meets the project's standards.
The student has completed this module if he is graded "satisfactory".
